fauxdavid

This is a nearly 100-year-old replica of Michelangelo's David, standing in front of the Palazzo Vecchio. The original David stood here from 1504 to 1873, when it was moved inside the Accademia dell'Arte del Disegno (aka the Academy of Art and Design). We also saw the "real" David, but photography was not permitted (and we were among the tourists who actually respected that rule).
